Department
of Radiodiagnosis
The Department of Radiodiagnosis, Kailash Hospital is
fully equipped with latest technologies to provide services par excellence
all around the year. The department is complemented with a team of competent
radiologists from premier institutions, technicians & staff to provide
best services.
Various investigations done by the Department of Radiodiagnosis include:
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI scan is done with 1.5 Tesla "Gyroscan Intera",
an ultrafast scanner from Philips, Netherland. MRI uses strong
magnetic field and radio waves rather than X-rays to provide remarkably
clear and detailed pictures of internal organs, tissues and pathology thus
avoiding the risk of exposure to radiation.

» MRI head is the most sensitive examination for brain tumor,
stroke and chronic disorders of nervous system.
» MRI spine is the most suitable modality to diagnose disc
degeneration, tumors and infections in spine & cord with intricate
details as no other modality can give.
» MRI musculo-skeletal is most frequently used to image knee,
shoulder, hip, ankle, foot, wrist, elbow and hand joints.
» MRI body is valuable for diagnosis of a broad range of
conditions in all parts of body like abdomen, pelvis and chest. MRCP can
easily detect disorders of the biliary tract noninvasively.
» MRI in ENT is an excellent modality to scan the inner ear.
The VIIth - VIIIth nerve complex, the cochlea & vestibule can be seen in
great detail. Paranasal sinuses can be seen in sagittal, axial & coronal
planes, while the patient lies in the supine position. Sinusits, mucosal
hypertrophy, polyps and tumors too can be seen in great detail.
» MRI - Angiography helps to study blood vessels without giving
contrast. Contrast enhanced angiography is performed for the abdominal and
peripheral vessels.
Whole Body CT scan
The department uses a Multislice Spiral Scanner from
Siemens, Germany for efficient whole body examinations. This Scanner is
designed for excellent image quality and low radiation dose. The Scanner
represents a milestone with respect to increased volume of coverage and good
resolutions with shortened examination time. It enables standard CT
examinations and 3D post processing.
» CT Angiography is useful for diagnosis of aneursym, plaques,
stenosis and other vascular anomalies.
» Syngo-3D:SS display is useful to visualize soft tissue, bone,
contrast enhanced vessels, etc. in different densities and planes.
» Real time MPR enables to view perspective in sagittal,
coronal, para-axial & oblique planes
» Syngo - FLY Through post processing enables virtual
endoscopy / bronchoscopy software for visualisation of hollow structure such
as vessels, airway and intestines.
