Dr. Satish Mathew, M.S., M.Ch - Chief Cardio Thoracic Surgeon - Earlier with Escorts Heart Institute for more than 6 years. Excels in all kinds of open and closed heart surgeries including Heart Transplants.

19. Charges for different procedures?
Please contact KHI for a comprehensive schedule of charges. To give you a broad idea about the charges - Angiography package is Rs.12,750/-, Angioplasty is Rs.80,000/- + Cost of Stent + cost of dyes and other cardiac consumables.

20. Information about different cardiac procedures?

Angiography - It is not a surgical procedure but it is a cardiac test. Patient needs to get admitted.
Angioplasty - Ballooning and Stenting (for opening the blockage in cardiac arteries)
Stent cost varies from Rs.55,000/- to Rs.1,30,000/-
CABG - Bypassing the blockage and putting the grafts.

21. Initial investigations for cardiac patients?

ECG - basic test to observe the functioning of heart rhythm
TMT - Basic test for existence of blockage in cardiac arteries (includes Resting ECG and then 9 minutes exercise)
ECHO - for the functioning of Heart Valves & Walls
HOLTER - 24 hour monitoring of heart (the patient goes home with the equipment attached to him / her and returns it back after 24 hours. The patient can do all routine activities).
Stress Thallium - To check the flow of blood to heart through the Peripheral System.
